How to clean stainless steel

Follow these guidelines to maintain the integrity of the steel

Regular maintenance of stainless steel is crucial for the following reasons:

  • Removing limescale buildup
  • Eliminating chloramines from pool environments
  • Getting rid of marks and scuffs
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic space

Cleaning protocol for stainless steel panels on the exterior of the bath

  • It is recommended to clean the stainless steel once a day using a soft microfibre cloth and a diluted detergent like washing up liquid.
  • Avoid using highly acidic or highly alkaline solutions as they can harm the protective layer. Opt for a neutral pH cleaner to minimize the risk of corrosion.
  • Additionally, refrain from using abrasive brushes or scourers, as they can damage the protective layer, allowing chlorine to penetrate the steel and leading to potential corrosion issues.

Cleaning protocol for stainless steel on the inside of the bath

  • Using a clean damp microfibre cloth, wipe down the steel daily at the water line, rubbing away any scum build up
  • If done one per day this will avoid the need for a deeper clean if limescale and scum is allowed to build up
  • If there is a buildup - bicarbonate of soda can be used to remove the scum, taking a small amount of the bicarbonate of soda onto a damp microfibre and gently rubbing the steel in the direction of the grain.
  • Do not use brushes or abrasive scourers
