How to get the Ice Bath up and running
This guidance is for: PRO Grade models shipped after March '24 which are identifiable by the filtration type. Your PRO grade unit will have a 20" filter and a twistiiclean backflush.
For PRO Models shipped before March '24 - head over to the guidance here.
Safety first
- Leave the bath unplugged until the setup is complete and you are instructed to power up.
- The power supply must be earthed and RCD protected. Under no circumstances should you ever use an adaptor or extension lead.
- Primary protection should be within the electrical circuit.
- This product is not for children. Always ensure small children are supervised near the bath.
Step one: Check the power socket
The bath has been individually tested for safety before leaving our workshop. However, we can’t account for where the units are plugged in. This is why we ask you invest a few minutes to double-check the safety of the power socket you intend to use to power the Brass Monkey.
It is your responsibility to ensure the ice bath is plugged into a socket with:
- an earthed electrical supply
- 30mA RCD (residual current device) protection
If you are unsure, speak to an electrician before going any further. Under no circumstances should you ever use an adaptor or extension lead. If you need a power socket closer, speak to an electrician.
Step two: Check the bath’s position
Before commencing setup, check you have the bath in the correct position:
Surface: The bath is heavy, especially when full of water. It needs to be sat on a hard and flat surface capable of holding 750kg+.
Ventilation: The bath has vents on 2 sides, these will need to sit 30cm clear of any obstruction to allow the air to flow.
Water: The bath will need filling with fresh tap water (never fill from a swimming pool or other water source), so make sure the bath is placed in reach of a hose.
Signal: The bath comes ready to be connected to your Wifi network. It will need to sit within range of a strong 2.4Ghz Wifi signal.
Step three: Install the particle filter
Before starting up for the first time, you'll need to install the first particle filter :
- Remove the vented access panel
- Loosen the filter housing by using the provided spanner and then proceed to remove the plastic filter housing.
- Unwrap the particle filter and place in the housing, using the green spacer provided to fit around the filter to hold it in the centre.
- Re-attached the filter housing and tighten with the plastic spanner provided until secure.
- Ensure the isolation valves running to and from the filter housing are set to the open position.
Step four: Fill the bath with water
Stop at when the water is half way up the skimmer.
Check the particle filter housing is full of water by bleeding the filter. Pressing the red button on the top of the filter
Step five: Power up
The bath is up and running!
It can take up to 24 hours to cool the water down to the target temperature.
See bath controls to learn how to set the temperature.
Use the app to connect your bath to wifi. Instructions are found here
