| **2** | **Barrel vessel** | The barrel vessel holds the body of cold water. |
| **3** | **Turn-bolt clasp** | Turn-bolts to safely secure the insulated cover when not in use. |
| **4** | **Removable mesh pre filter (inside vessel)** | Sits over the suction pipe to catch debris before it travels into the filtration system. |
| **5** | **Barrel light cable** | Connects to your chiller to power the light. |
| **6** | **Suction hole - top (inside)** | Water is suctioned from the barrel back into the chiller and though the filtration system. |
| **7** | **Return flow hole (inside)** | Water flows from the chiller into the barrel through this hole. |
| **8** | **Return flow tap (outside)** | Tap to isolate the flow of water. |

### Meet your Brass Monkey Chiller

| 1 | Power cable | Power cable to be plugged into RCD protected circuit |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 2 | Maintenance access | Removable panel to gain access for maintenance tasks |
| 3 | RCD | Residual current device protector |
| 4 | Control panel | The controls for the chiller to toggle temp up and down and access maintenance mode |
| 5 | Control panel maintenance light | The maintenance light shows different sequences for error logs or maintenance functions.  [See this page for more info](https://service.brassmonkey.co/knowledge/maintenance-light-sequences?hsLang=en) |
| 6 | Inlet connector | Water flows from the barrel into the chiller |
| 7 | Outlet connector | Water flows out of the chiller and into the barrel |
| 8 | Twistiiclean housing | The Twistiiclean unit effectively traps solid sediment, which, when flushed regularly, helps extend the lifespan of the particle filter and keeps the water clear of debris |
| 9 | UV filter | Uv light sanitation to help kills bacteria and pseudonomas |
| 10 | Filter isolation valve | Turn this tap to open or close the pipe when changing the filter |
| 11 | Filter isolation valve | Turn this tap to open or close the pipe when changing the filter |
| 12 | Water fill valve | Connect the hosepipe to fill with water.  It must be filled this way to prime the chiller. |
| 13 | Particle filter housing | This filter collects sediment and microscopic debris.  This should be changed regularly. |
| 14 | Drainage isolation valve | The valve drains water from the chiller.  Connect a hose to this to drain the water. |

### *Safety first*

- *Leave your chiller unplugged until the setup is complete and you are instructed to power up.*
- *Your power socket must be earthed and RCD protected. Under no circumstances should you ever use an adaptor or extension lead.*
- *The RCD is there as an additional level of protection. Primary protection should be within your home’s electrical circuit.*
- *Please refer to the [User Safety](https://service.brassmonkey.co/knowledge/user-safety?hsLang=en) section for guidelines on how the product's intended use by customers.*

### Check the power socket

Your barrel chiller has been individually tested for safety before leaving our workshop. However, we can’t account for where the units are plugged in. This is why we ask you invest a few minutes to double-check the safety of the power socket you intend to use to power your Brass Monkey.

It is your responsibility to ensure your barrel chiller is plugged into a socket with:

- an earthed electrical supply
- 30mA RCD (residual current device) protection
- an IP rated waterproof cover

To help, in your starter pack we included a Smart Socket Tester. Follow the instructions provided with the tester to check your socket is safe.

If the socket is good, continue with setup. If it fails or you are still unsure, speak to an electrician before going any further. Under no circumstances should you ever use an adaptor or extension lead. If you need a power socket closer, speak to an electrician.

### Check your barrel & chiller position

Before commencing setup, check you have your barrel & chiller in the correct position:

**Location:** Your barrel is intended for outdoor use only. Note condensation may occur from time to time leaving water on the floor.

**Surface:** Your barrel is heavy, especially when full of water. It needs to be sat on a hard and flat surface capable of holding 610kg.

**Ventilation:** Your barrel has vents on 2 sides, these will need to sit 30cm clear of any obstruction to allow the air to flow.

**Access:** You’ll need to access inside the chiller via the side panel. Ensure you’ll have space to remove the panel and undertake maintenance tasks.

**Water:** Your barrel will need filling with fresh tap water (never fill from a swimming pool or other water source), so make sure your bath is placed in reach of a hose.  The barrel must be filled through the chiller to prime the system and avoid airlocks.  Do not fill by putting the hose into the barrel.

**Signal:** Your chiller comes ready to be connected to your Wifi network. It will need to sit within range of a strong 2.4Ghz Wifi signal on a private home network.

### Your barrel is up and running!

It can take up to 24 hours to cool the water down to your target temperature.

See [control panel](https://20098267.hs-sites.com/knowledge/the-controls?hsLang=en) to learn how to set the temperature.

Use the app to connect the chiller to wifi.

Be careful not to force the black clips out too far when releasing, over-extending will cause them to snap.
