Daily monitoring and action to ensure bathing water is clear, clean and free from bacteria
As a responsible commercial operator, water hygiene should be a top daily priority when operating any 'wet product', just like a swimming pool. The cleaning & testing protocols outlined are designed to be a baseline guide for good standards of water hygiene and controlling levels of dangerous waterborne bacteria. Operators should adjust this baseline guidance as necessary based on user loads, regular checks and experience of the water within each operator's unique environment.
The risks to the health of your customers primarily come from waterborne bacteria such as E. coli, coliforms, pseudomonas and one of the greatest threats that the sector has to deal with – the chlorine-resistant pathogen Cryptosporidium.
The Brass Monkey unit is a small body of water that has potential for high usage, making it more susceptible to bacterial contamination. It is crucial to balance the number of users with routine testing and adjustments using the appropriate chemicals to maintain water balance.
Understanding the PRO Plunge filtration system:
Skimmer |
The always-on skimmer removes debris from the water's surface before it passes to the next stage. |
TwistIIclean Filter |
The Twistiiclean unit effectively traps solid sediment, which, when flushed regularly, helps extend the lifespan of the particle filter and keeps the water clear of debris. |
Particle Filter | This secondary filter collects the finer particles in the water |
UV Light | This powerful unit uses Nano Crystal technology to help eliminate dangerous microorganisms such as cryptosporidium, adenoviruses and naegleria fowleri. |
Micro Doser | Once the ratio between the number of bathers and water testing is determined, the system can be set to automatically dispense chemicals into the water to eliminate any remaining microbes and maintain a residual level to guard against the bacterial load introduced into the bath. |
Baseline Water Hygiene protocol:
DAILY
Throughout the day
- Visual check, remove debris and wet vac to remove debris - Clean debris from the skimmer & top up water if required
- Water quality testing & dosing
End of day
- Wipe down (inc. Clean the steel around the water line using a damp microfibre cloth)
- Flush the Twistiiclean (For models shipped before March '24: rinse the 80 micron mesh filter)
- Water quality testing & dosing
EVERY 3-7 DAYS
- Extended backwash - every few days, extend the backwash to drain a portion of water (e.g. 1/3rd)
- Clean the TwistIIclean housing & replace the particle filter - NB. Whilst replacing, give inside of particle filter a clean
- Check & balance water
MONTHLY
- Arrange biological water test from an accredited 3rd party laboratory for bacterial testing
QUARTERLY
- System flush, full drain & deep clean
