Guidance on the minimum maintenance required
This guidance is for: PRO Grade models shipped after March '24 which are identifiable by the filtration type. Your PRO grade unit will have a 20" filter and a twistiiclean backflush.
For PRO Models shipped before March '24 - head over to the guidance here.
We believe that your No.1 priority as a commercial operator is the health and safety of your customers. This guide looks at ways of managing and maintaining good standards of water hygiene and controlling levels of dangerous waterborne bacteria.
The risks to the health of your customers primarily come from waterborne bacteria such as E. coli, coliforms, pseudomonas and one of the greatest threats that the sector has to deal with – the chlorine-resistant pathogen Cryptosporidium.
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the health of your Brass Monkey and the safety of its users. We recommend the following protocol as a minimum guidance.
The Brass Monkey unit is a small body of water that has potential for high usage, making it more susceptible to bacterial contamination. It is crucial to balance the number of users with routine testing and adjustments using the appropriate chemicals to maintain water balance.
Understanding the Brass Monkey's robust 5 stage water filtration system:
STAGE 1 | Skimmer |
The always-on skimmer removes debris from the water's surface before it passes to the next stage. |
STAGE 2 | Twistiiclean Filter |
The Twistiiclean unit effectively traps solid sediment, which, when flushed regularly, helps extend the lifespan of the particle filter and keeps the water clear of debris. |
STAGE 3 | Particle Filter | This secondary filter collects the finer particles in the water down to 20 microns |
STAGE 4 | UV Light | This powerful unit uses Nano Crystal technology to help eliminate dangerous microorganisms such as cryptosporidium, adenoviruses and naegleria fowleri. |
STAGE 5 | Micro Doser | Once the ratio between the number of bathers and water testing is determined, the system can be set to automatically dispense chemicals into the water to eliminate any remaining microbes and maintain a residual level to guard against the bacterial load introduced into the bath. |
Wet area risk assessment
Our guidelines are a recommendation of the minimum requirement. It is essential that you conduct a wet area risk assessment to determine the frequency of water sampling and testing required in your unique situation, establishing a bather load to water testing ratio. Regularly review this ratio based on the number of individuals using the Brass Monkey unit.
